morning smoothie (bowl)
Often times you can find me throwing a bunch of ingredients into a blender and hoping it turns out great. This can be a bit of a challenge when trying to use healthy foods!
This is one recipe (perhaps the only one) that turned out to be delicious, and is great for waking me up in the morning! The matcha curbs my caffeine craving, the spinach gives me a hit of greens, and the yogurt and hemp seeds pack some veggie-friendly protein.
*As a side note I have tried a few different fruits with spinach, but pineapple seems to mask it the best!!
Please note measurements are approximate as I usually just eyeball it.
- 1 cup frozen pineapple
- 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp plain greek yogurt
- 1/2 tsp matcha green tea
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
And for a smoothie bowl as shown, garnish with your favourite fruits/seeds! I like to use pineapple, blueberries, toasted coconut, hemp and chia seeds!
