oscar night!

the yes's

Cate Blanchett
At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this look. I then realized I'm obsessed with it. It works because the floral details are the same colour as the gown, so it's exciting without being overpowering. The deep v neckline makes her look super tall, and most importantly it fits her like a glove. Bravo.

Chrissy Teigen
This really needs no explanation.

Alicia Vikander
This was my favourite look of the night. The gown is stunning, the fit is amazing and Alicia is super happy which makes the look that much more radiant. I think it was a great choice to have it shorter in the front, it keeps it youthful and ensures her petite figure doesn't get lost.

Rooney Mara
Rooney is giving me everything with this look. The lace is beyond gorgeous, the cutout gives it just the right amount of sass, and her hair and makeup is flawless.

the no's

Heidi Klum
This look makes me really concerned about Heidi's position on Project Runway. The woman is gorgeous, but between the flowers and the sleeve there is just way too much going on here. If we subtract the flowers and the sleeve it's less appalling... but it's still a bridesmaid's dress.

Brie Larson
This dress was a huge flop for me. The skirt by itself is okay, but this belt is way too bulky, and totally unnecessary with all the ruffles. If anything, a very thin crystal belt would've been enough. I find the fit on top to be very odd, it makes her torso look very long. I would've liked to see the triangles cut lower down and less in her armpit.

Kerry Washington
This look is just weird. Kerry looks like she is about to go fight some sort of battle.

Reese Witherspoon
The fit of this dress is terrible. The fabric looks bulky and cheap, and I don't understand what's going on with the top. Beautiful colour though.

grammy night!
